Kids in the Basement:

A self-described ROC City Party Band.
Kids in the Basement met when each member of the band was caught and held captive in Joe’s basement. Coincidentally, one pack of skittles brought them together to overcome the circumstances, escape and form a musical super group called Kids in the Basement.

Redbeard Samurai and the JB Dojo:
Redbeard Samurai is an artist and producer employing hip hop to craft party anthems laced with introspective funk. Performing professionally since age 16, Redbeard Samurai has played over 300 shows with more than 15 bands ranging from jazz to pop. As a conservatory trained jazz guitarist from the Eastman School of Music, Redbeard Samurai expertly weaves elements of RnB, jazz, and soul into hip hop for a complete musical experience.

His debut album blends danceable boom-bap beats with organic sonic landscapes. The album builds on personal experiences by infusing each song with raw energy and instrumental exploration. Provocative and upbeat, “Have Mercy” hypes crowds using rap tropes and blunt humor. “Pretend” wishes for second chances at past relationships with jazzy ripples of delicate synth samples and electric guitar.

As a music producer and lyricist, Redbeard Samurai shares a part of himself to inspire people to be engaged in music.
