We’re pleased to feature Aaron Lipp Music in our artist spotlight today. Aaron will perform at FOLK City at Photo City: A Benefit for REACH Sunday, February 18th from 8:45pm-9:15pm.
Aaron Lipp is a down home picker and accomplished multi-instrumentalist/songwriter from Naples, NY. After years of touring playing the Hammond B3 Organ with bands such as Robert Randolph & the Family Band and Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, he has gone on his own to lead several bands (The Cabin Killers, Aaron Lipp & The Slack Tones, Mount Pleasant String Band) as well as performing solo shows in the region. He performs a mix of original and traditional material that stems from powerhouse finger-picking blues guitar, fast or slow with a screaming harmonica melody above it with his foot stomping. A huge sound from one man, his shows are known for the room filling up with sound and folks tapping their feet or dancing up a storm. Aaron likes to switch things up and grab his banjo to perform select Appalachian mountain tunes and songs on to create more of a hypnotic, deep-in-the-hills feeling even inside a concert hall.
