We couldn’t have done it without the amazing folks behind the scenes:
The Artists – A massive thank you to all the incredible musicians who made Folky Tonk & Honky Tonk at Photo City such a special weekend! Jatoba had the whole room moving with their signature groovegrass sound—there’s a reason they’re a crowd favorite. Jungle Steve brought that same soulful energy we fell in love with ten years ago, proving once again why he’s a staple in our music family. A heartfelt shoutout to Tyler Westcott, Adrianna Noone, and Fran Broderick for their phenomenal solo sets and for coming together for an unforgettable John Prine Tribute—raising $112 for the Hello in There Foundation, which honors John’s legacy of love and kindness. Special love to Calya Perricelli for jumping in on a song with Tyler—her powerhouse vocals never fail to bring the house down! Deco & The Dusters absolutely packed the house Friday night, delivering a high-energy set that set the tone for the whole weekend. Head to the Roots kept the good vibes rolling with their signature uplifting sound. Cast Iron Cowboys brought a super danceable, high-energy set—even sparking some line dancing! Drew Kiddoo & The Blackouts rocked their first show with us, and we’re already looking forward to the next. Dirt Turtles—(Gabi’s new favorite band!)—were so good, we could’ve watched them for weeks on end. Jeff Riales & Mike Wittek brought sweet, soulful sounds to the front room, while Texas Headphones delivered a killer set—complete with a drummer’s son stepping in to tell a few jokes while they handled an instrumental issue (pure gold). Janet Batch was a ray of sunshine, lighting up the stage with her warm presence. Los Pajaritos transported us with their beautiful flamenco serenade, and finally, Crooked Kit kicked off Saturday night with a perfectly groovy start.
